Work-Package Five

Environmental protection and peace education are deeply interconnected. Work Package 5 expands on the findings of the project to demonstrate how environmental ethics is a fundamental part of interreligious learning and a key component of peace education. By integrating ecological responsibility into religious education, this work package strengthens cooperation, motivation, and long-term sustainability in addressing global challenges.

Environmental Ethics and Peacebuilding

  • Establishing the link between environmental ethics and peace education as a core principle of interreligious learning.

Developing and Refining Educational Modules

  • Finalizing the in-depth module on Environmental Education as Peace Education through Interreligious Learning Processes.
  • Structuring and completing module descriptions for religious education with a focus on climate ethics and peacebuilding.
  • Developing a module as part of the core curriculum for interreligious education and a module description for a certificate program.
  • Implementing and evaluating the didactic application of the in-depth module in teacher training and classroom settings.

Publications and Knowledge Dissemination
Ensuring broad access to project findings is a priority. This work package includes:

  • Compiling a handbook for teachers of all religious communities, featuring didactic guidance and teaching modules for primary and lower secondary education.
  • Publishing a manual on interreligious education from an environmental ethics perspective, ensuring accessibility in multiple languages.
  • Producing an English-language manual with teaching materials and didactic commentaries, aimed at expanding the project’s impact across Europe.

Final Monitoring and Public Engagement

  • Conducting a comprehensive final monitoring process, evaluating the effectiveness, acceptance, and comprehensibility of the developed modules.
  • Organizing a final public event to present project results and strengthen engagement with broader educational and religious communities.
  • Enhancing public relations and media work to increase visibility and long-term impact.
  • Developing plans for future expansion, ensuring the project’s sustainability and follow-up in other European countries.
